To a lot of people, ping your blog is like speaking a foreign language.  In fact, the whole idea of pinging anything is a little bit weird to a lot of people

So that’s why I created a short video to explain what pinging your blog means and how to set up your WordPress blog to take care of the whole thing for you automatically.

After you watch the video, you may be interested in getting a list of all the ping services that are out there.  It’s a constantly changing list.  Some services go under, while others change their URL’s to keep up with the changes in technology.

I’ve been doing some quasi-testing on different blog layout styles to see what kind of layout converts better. The two styles I’ve been testing are the “magazine” style layout like and the traditional style layout like the one that this blog uses.

I wanted to test out the magazine style layout because I liked the idea of a blog looking more like a traditional high-end website, while still being able to use the traditional wordpress content management. WordPress makes it sooo easy to manage your content… I love that!

Before I get into the test results, I want to make it clear that I hadn’t really planned to test this because it didn’t occur to me that using either of these blog layouts would make THAT much difference. After all, both types were professionally designed and looked pretty good.

In fact, I didn’t expect there to be any difference at all… then I started comparing the site stats for each layout type over several different niches.

As I got up this morning and realized how long it’s been since I posted anything on my blogs, I realized that I really don’t like blogging. In fact, in some ways I absolutely hate it. So I’m started asking myself if blogging is really doing anything for my business, if there’s better activities I can employ, and if I should continue blogging.

I’ve spent the better part of the last week analyzing my business.
