Why I’m NOT on the ‘Traffic Secrets’ Bandwagon

Traffic Secrets 2.0I can’t believe how many email messages that I’ve received regarding the new Traffic Secrets 2.0 course due out today at noon… it’s completely ridiculous!

But then again, that’s why John Reese makes so much money with his product launches.

I have gotten every kind of email you can image — everything from the “buy this from me and I’ll give you all these bonuses” to “I’m above all this, but buy it from me anyway” to the pre-written email messages in the affiliate area of the Traffic Secrets website.

Since Traffic Secrets is giving away 51% commission on the course (and there is a pretty heafty pricetag), it’s no wonder that so many affiliates are trying to cash in on a huge payday when it releases.  But I really wonder how many affiliates are going to make any sales… aside from the sale that the affiliate buys himself (or herself).

My guess is that it’s going to go back to that old 80/20 rule (or maybe even a 90/10) where 20% of the affiliates for Traffic Secrets make 80% of the commissions.  That basically means that the really successful affiliates who have HUGE mailing lists and a nice following are going to be the ones to rake in all that cash.

So…  Why haven’t I jumped on the Traffic Secrets bandwagon?

Frankly, I don’t like being “one of the faces in the croud.”  I’m not promoting the course simply because soooo many other affiliates are promoting it.  This is how I look at it…

A lot of the same people who visit my site and subscribe to my lists are the same people who subscribe and visit all those other affiliates who are papering the internet with promotions for Traffic Secrets.  People are getting absolutely over-run with advertising for the course.  As I see it, I have three choices:

1.  Join the croud and throw my own promotions into the frey.  The time and effort this would take would only result in a few sales, if any, and it would make me just another face in a very large croud… not where I like to be.

2.  Come up with a more outstanding bonus offer or some other way to stand out from the croud.  This would take an enormous amount of effort to accomplish since some affiliates are putting together some monster bonus packages… plus I’d have to give away as much stuff (or more) than I would receive in commissions.  Nope, I don’t like this offer either.

3.  Take the completely contrarian view and promote products that aren’t related to Traffic Secrets at all.  This is the one I’ve chosen.  My messages stand out over all those Traffic Secrets pre-launch messages because I’m promoting something completely different.  And it’s available right now… no waiting around for that pesky launch date.  Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I’ve done pretty well with this strategy… better than I anticipate I would have done had I promoted Traffic Secrets.

By the way, you know who’s really making a killing with all this pre-launch hype about Traffic Secrets, don’t you?  John Reese of course!  Not all those affiliates out there begging for sales.

That’s okay by me… I like John Reese.

In fact, I bought his originial Traffic Secrets course (at $997) and really liked it.  I have great hopes for the new Traffic Secrets 2.0 course and I’ll probably buy that one as well.  He puts together really great products, so I usually buy just about anything he puts out.  John Reese is one of those people that gets me off my butt and thinking… I like that.

So I guess that I’m saying that I already recommend the course, sight unseen, because I like the guy who created it.  If you’re interested in Traffic Secrets 2.0, I’d really love it if you’d buy it through my link… but I have no plans to get heavy into the promotion of this course.

No bandwagons for me!
